At last night's meeting, we discussed a need for signs to show where we are better, and hopefully attract some attention!
In the past, we've talked about doing a painted/printed sign for the door to the building (possibly splitting the bottom part of the door with AssentWorks)... but no one seemed interested in taking that on. What about an edge-lit acrylic sign? It looks like the Calgary hackerspace has been having a lot of fun making little ones (as nametags), and bigger ones as signs! http://protospace.ca/wp/2012/05/edge-lit-acrylic/ The reason I happened to see this was because I'm looking into going to the Calgary mini maker faire on September 8th. I think I'd be taking an extended weekend and driving down, which would not only let a group of us go fairly cheaply, but would allow time to see the Calgary and Edmonton makerspaces.
