Is there any way we could do an advanced screening and do a bit of a Media event for Skull Space?

I recently saw a terrific new film called WE ARE LEGION: STORY OF THE HACKTIVISTS in Toronto and I am going to screen it here at the Cinematheque in early November. I would like to make sure the hacker community is aware of it and wondered if you had any suggestions on how I can reach that community to help me promote it in Winnipeg as well as across Canada. I told the distributor I would like to help them get bookings across Canada and I sent them a list of independent theatres who they are going to pitch.. If you have a list of any other hacker organizations in other Canadian cities that would be valuable as well. I am not being paid for this, I just thought it is such a great film I would love to see it play across the country and wondered if you had any thoughts on helping me promote it thru the hacker community ? Here is the synopsis : WE ARE LEGION: The Story of the Hacktivists, takes us inside the complex culture and history of Anonymous. "We Are Legion" tracks the evolution of hacktivism from the ludicrous website 4 chan- a mish-mash of memes, revolting images and heated discussions about Manga- through to the formation of Anonymous, which builds its backbone from declaring an international war on Scientology and gains it political purpose from Wikileaks and the battle for free information on the internet. The film explores early hacktivist groups like Cult of the Dead Cow and Electronic Disturbance Theater, and then moves to Anonymous' own raucous and unruly beginnings on the website 4Chan.Through interviews with current members - some recently returned from prison, others still awaiting trial - as well as writers, academics and major players in various "raids," WE ARE LEGION traces the collective's breathtaking evolution from merry pranksters to a full-blown, global movement, one armed with new weapons of civil disobedience for an online world. Much thanks for any suggestions Dave Barber Cinematheque Programmer 204-925-3456 (ext 108) _______________________________________________ SkullSpace Admin Mailing List Help: http://www.skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Mailing_List#Admin ----- End forwarded message ----- _______________________________________________ SkullSpace Discuss Mailing List Help: http://www.skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Mailing_List#Discuss Archive: https://groups.google.com/group/skullspace-discuss-archive/ _______________________________________________ SkullSpace Discuss Mailing List Help: http://www.skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Mailing_List#Discuss Archive: https://groups.google.com/group/skullspace-discuss-archive/
