Like I said, if you can't safely get home for whatever reason - and you
aren't making a habit of it - it's fine. But that's "crashing", not
"sleeping". :)

Passing out is very distinct from sleeping -- the former is a risky state of unconciousness, the later is a normal, altered form of conciousness.

Alchol poisoning is a potential medical emergency. Though people routinely survive alocohol poisoning, sometimes it's leathal -- better safe than sorry.
