I have disassembled and reassembled my iPhone4 several times.. I found the best is to follow guides such as ones found on ifixit.com, they even have an app which I have found very useful. I tried looking for a guide on the iBook but couldn't find it. Sorry

I've done multi-hour laptop takeaparts a few times, the fast way is to start with a big empty table and make a "trail" of parts taken apart that you can follow to put back together, although in some cases where different-sized screws can go in one hole you need to take notes/make drawings. I have a set of rarer/security bits that you can borrow if needed. Word is that a credit card or a *plastic* knife is a decent substitute -- and, using a flathead screwdriver as a substitute for some of the case separation steps is a very bad idea due to risk of breaking sensitive plastic parts.
