I don't like this because the service is only open to existing Shaw
customers. We'd be aiding and strengthening their end of the telecom
duopoly by giving Skullspace visitors yet another reason to buy Shaw for
their own homes and businesses.
Further, making this extensive network of Shaw customer only wifi
hotspots more prevalent could mean that more and more public places like
cafe's decide to just drop having WiFI open to all their customers.

It wouldn't be a true backup because it would only be available to
Skullspace visitors who have Shaw accounts through their home or work.
