I've called this event "Hollywood and the History of Hacking" it's going to be super informal - set up as a Q & A I've included my answers to the questions I hope to ask you if you're going to participate. 1.Your favorite hacker movie, why? Aliens - Because the tech Hudson loses his shit: "Seventeen *days?* Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade, but we're not gonna last seventeen *hours!* Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before. And they're gonna come in here..." 2. The hacker movie you despise, why? Swordfish - "For someone the NSA once listed as the most dangerous hacker in America, you sure don't look like much." They hack with Autocad. E'nuff said. 3. Has Hollywood helped or hindered the hacker culture? Hindered, were either all Asian or work for government three letter agencies. 4. Is hacking a culture, a sub-culture or something else? I think it's a culture with many different branches. 5. An epic hacker from the past, why he she is important?
