SkullSpace Members! The Manitoba Museum is hosting Yuri's Night again this year on April 12! Better still, SkullSpace has been asked if we want to contribute to the event.
If you've never been to Yuri's night before, you're probably wondering "Who's is this Yuri guy, and why does he get a night?" Well, Yuri Gagarin just happens to be a pretty cool Russian guy. He gets his own night because he's the first man ever to go to friggen outer space. Since going to outer space is a pretty big deal, people around the world celebrate it with bad-ass parties every year. Highlights from past events at the Manitoba Museum are awesome costumes, alcohol in the science gallery, brilliantly nerdy and friendly people, hands on exhibits, dancing in the planetarium, and science! The dancing in the planetarium has been best described to me as, "Like having a dance party on board the Tardis". If that doesn't sound awesome to you, odds are that you have never been to space and your opinion is invalid. SkullSpace has been asked if we can bring something to the table. Bear in mind that this is not our usual conference and trade show fair. This is a party, and I'd like us to think beyond the swag table and come up with something that people can really have fun with. We have time to make new things for this. In SkullSpace tradition, I'm leading up Strikeforce Starstuff. If you want to help, let me know. If you have any ideas, let this list know. I hope to meet with our volunteers sometime this weekend or early next week. - Jay Smith / @Sporked _______________________________________________ SkullSpace Discuss Mailing List Help: http://www.skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Mailing_List#Discuss Archive: https://groups.google.com/group/skullspace-discuss-archive/
