Generally, we're all free to *use* items (tools, etc) which are marked with
people's names, but we're only free to *use up* materials that aren't so
marked.
There's a whole list of conventions, really. Like, even if it's free game,
don't be a pig about it, because other people might want to use it too. If
you want the material in the case of a cleanup and garbage dumping, then
it's best to put some kind of tag on it saying who's it is and that everyone
is free to use it. That way, we know who to contact if we want to get rid of
something.
Basically, if it's unlabelled, it belongs to the space. If it belongs to
someone, we shouldn't destroy it. We should probably have a wiki page for
claiming ownership of things that are basically impossible to mark (like all
the plates or cutlery I brought in).
