I actually feel this is legal (and moral], since we have always reminded people that Skullspace network (and internet) access is provided as a courtesy and may be tampered with at any time... and encouraged members to do so, for the sake of learning.
If there is any concern about what how people who don't read Discuss will feel about the experiment, a repost of Alex"s message to Announce should be more than sufficient. While I appreciate his statement we can unhook it if we like, I'm going to say most people wouldn't know how, as they wouldn't even know what equipment he hooked up for this demonstration. As far as I could tell, the worst consequence so far is that many people trolled him with intentionally disgusting images.
