Hello SkullSpace, Now that we have the 3D printer, a somewhat expensive and finicky piece of equipment, I thought it was a good time to start documenting the equipment in the space. This will help keep track of where things are, who is trained with special tools, who the tools belong to, and other important information.
I really like how Pumping Station: One has their equipment organized in their wiki, so I have copied a bunch of their templates. (http://wiki.pumpingstationone.org/Equipment) If you want a list of equipment and instructions for adding more equipment, go to the Equipment page here: http://skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Equipment I have also tossed together a bash script to create labels that can be attached to the devices. You can find that script here: https://github.com/skullspace/tool_label_generator The label maker script needs some work yet. I would like to have it integrated automatically with the wiki template like PS:One's, but I'm not totally sure how to do that (plus my script runs a bit slow due to the large images I chose to work with). If anyone wants to give me a hand with putting this script (or a similar one) into a wiki template, it would be much appreciated. I added the main template to the top of our 3D printer's wiki page to start things off (http://skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/3d_printer). If you have any feedback on this system, let me know. I want to make keeping our tools organized and usable as painless as possible. If you know a tool well, feel free to make up a page and print off a label.
