You can edit/update without a google account. I just tried in a 'incognito' session of a browser I don't use.
It also works great on my cellphone using the 'google drive' application. I updated the wiki and put instructions for Android here: http://www.skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Shopping If anybody has an iphone and wants to do the same, go for it!
