Sure, why not! That'll give you and I some time to load books, etc.

Other things we could try are using a non-branded reader app, and
downloading library books. IIRC, that can be done directly from home with a
valid library card, but the book needed to be transferred via cable to my
nook using Adobe DRM.  I'm not sure what the equivalent process is on a
kindle or tablet app.
