At 2pm I'll be running a live ("satoshi square") Bitcoin market

Here's how it went.

There was one seller (Skullspace) and three buyers, including myself the buyer of last resort. Other two buyers were at separate times, one barely caught me as I was going to leave.

Hopefully better promoted and attended next month, wasn't expecting too much this month.

I've given Skullspace a cheque for $139.64 on 1.4 BTC sold. That's an average rate of $99.74 CAD/BTC on all this.

Exchange rates are pretty wildly divergent between different exchanges right now. If you're looking at something like mtgox as of 2pm today, $99.74 CAD seems pretty low by comparison. But on an amount this small, the biggest transaction cost ends up being the international wire fees to get it out of there -- at least $21 CAD (2000 YEN) taken off by their bank, and possibly more along the way. Plus all the hassle of setting this up, and worry while waiting (wire transfer voodoo that can go wrong).

And $99.74 CAD is nicely above where Canadian exchanges, cavirtex.com and canadianbitcoins.com were sitting around 2pm.

canadianbitcoins.com has a free withdrawl method of cheque in the mail, but they get you on their buy/sell spread, sell rate $86.10 as of right now.

cavirtex has a $6 fee direct deposit withdrawl and 1.5% they take out of the trade -- looks like it was around $92 CAD/BTC around 2pm today.
