I was part of freenet.  My very first email address was [email protected].
You had to pay extra for a personal address; kind of like a vanity license 
plate.
Freenet died because MTS was charging way too much for the modem pool.
I hope Skull Space does not suffer a similar financial fate; we even might have 
a
maker space at the library!

I believe that the Winnipeg Public Libraries used to use Lynx on their dummy 
terminals waaaaay back when I was in high school around 2000ish.  At least I 
recall a very similar interface.  Come to think of it, I think it was Lynx.  I 
remember their was a (g)oto option, but they disabled it until later in it's 
time.  I even recall there being an option on these terminals called Freenet...
