AirDroid?

You launch it on your phone, and it creates a HTTP server on the phone at
port 8888 on your phone's WiFi IP address.

I don't know for sure that a NAT port forward on his router would work for
you or not, but I don't see why it shouldn't work...

You might need to remotely control his computer and launch a browser on his
computer @ his house to get to his phone...
