I agree Rylaan, that is one of it's biggest limitations, and when I first used it, it made learning how to use it "less accessible". I felt I had to first learn and understand how it detected my hands and movements before I could use it properly.
In the end, unless the software does a great job at detecting gestures to avoid possible miss-gestures, it's can be a very frustrating device. On a high note, I managed to get it working on my Debian Squeeze workstation, so I am hoping to use the same installation to have it also working on my Debian Wheezy laptop for when I visit the space tomorrow. If anybody wants a complete demonstration of the software and wants to dive into Python and play with basic code, let me know. I can see about setting up my laptop in the classroom on the projector, and people can come by to play with the SDK software to see how the device tracks your hands, fingers, and tools(pens) in real-time.
