If it times like go, you get 3 min. It counts while it's your turn. So yeah, 3min per side, so max game is 6min. Unless there are additional time periods. In go when you run out of main time, you get a few 30 second periods. If you make your move before 30s it fills up again, if not you start on the next 30s period.
I'll bring a go board, in case anyone wants a different sort of challenge. Or try both as a comparison.
