I know, I should remember by now that it is always May long weekend - but it slipped my mind this year and I haven't heard anyone mention it or seen any posters.
For people in the same caught-off-guard situation as I, here is a link to the Keycon programming grid: http://keycon.org/2014/programming-grid/ I'm thinking of getting the Saturday pass and attending with Megan. If anyone else would like to join, the more the merrier. The hospitality suites alone are usually worth the price of admission. Yes, it is unfortunately the same weekend as the LegitBS DefCon qualifier CTF - I'll be at both as much as I can. For next year, maybe we talk to Jim Buchanan (of JimCon fame), KeyCon gaming area co-ordinator, and snag a table for CTFing laptops and gear. Hospitality suites will provide sustenance and R&R, we can wear SkSp gear for visibility, plus pop into panels for the occasional mental break from smashing stacks. Phoul - think of the exposure of doing a CryptoParty in an hour or two hour panel! With talks scheduled like "How A Carbureted Four Cylinder Piston Engine Works", "Modding Minecraft", and "Everything you Wanted To Know About Rocks But Didn't Know Enough To Ask" I think "How to Tor, TextSecure, and GPG" would fit right in. While the Skullotron isn't portable, I do think it would look sharp just outside the door to the "How to Steampunk on a Budget" panel sessions. ;-)
