Hi chaps,

I am the original poster of that bg report and I found the solution
proposed by Jason (changing the save interval) solved the problem for
me. That was with the 5.3.x release. Since then I have upgraded to
5.4.0 and the hourly dropouts have returned, so I'm planning to make
the same change again in the 5.4.0 codebase.

FWIW, I am running the source distribution on Solaris. That means I
run slimserver.pl and I actually have the file Music/Info.pm present
in the slimserver home directory. This is the file which I edited last
time, which solved the problem.

HTH,
Nico
