What i actually needed to check was 'size'. Doh! if the size is set to large, very large or any of the couple of other big fonts i have installed Musicinfo appears blank. A bug, but not a problematic one now i know the cause.
Thanks for pointing this out! I'd not really call it a bug. But it isn't very nice behaviour not to have some fallback values if there's nothing defined: as Ralph stated there are values for the single line (large font) mode. You have to define them, too.
I'll add this to the next release.
