As another data point, I'm using exclusively FLAC files,
and I think it worked pretty well.
There's some very strange matching, and some obvious matches
I would expect to find that it didn't. Haven't had time to
try to analyse why yet.
The oddest match is:
Genesis (live) was matched as Foxtrot
(Both albums by Genesis)
The failed matches I'm surprised at are:

characters in the tags.
