For what its worth - it started working again. Um, by itself. I didn't
change a thing. It wasn't a dodgy network connection as I was able to
fire up the web interface, from a remote machine, and I couldn't play
tunes via that ether. The problem had persisted through reboots also.

Now I'm really confused! :)
