Don't hold off on my account. I'm purely speculating. For all I know there is nothing in the hopper for release anytime soon and you could be waiting for a very long time. Then again, you could buy and they release something new the next day. You just never know. My philosophy where technology is concerned is that unless you absolutely know of something right around the corner then it is a waiting game not worth playing.
particularly if you want the something to really happen. Sinclair is often held up as an example of "how not to market technology" for talking up how great their version 2.0 was going to be... seems no one wanted to buy the 1.0 since 2.0 was going to be so good, so there wasn't enough money to finish making the 2.0.
