OK. tried running slim.exe instead of the service but still can't get 
Moodlogic plug-in check box to stay on and still can't see any Moodlogic 
server settings..
What's next?

I might be wrong...I never run as a service.
try running manually, if it fails to show up with a service and that will 
answer
that question :)
