Would it not be possible to add the first few tracks to the list
then start playing, then you can build the rest of the list using a
lower priority. That way playback could start almost instantaneous
with no loss of contact.
On a similar tack, occasionally when I do the above, the first track
will start playing but there is no sound, forward to the next and
all is ok.
