Installing SlimServer isn't a problem for me, and as I stated earlier in this discussion - ogg support in the firmware doesn't matter personally to me, I don't use ogg at the moment anyway. But it still would be a good thing for users if it was supported in the squeezebox.
You should request features that you would use yourself. Assuming what others want does not work IME. If the masses want ogg let the masses speak up :)
Changing the firmware in the squeezebox is a lot easier than asking a bunch of users to change their music encoding and install unsupported third software (lame) in order to get lossy streaming to a squeezebox.
No it is not. That way you'd force every other user to update their firmware if the ogg decoder needed a tweak.
