Please download the latest release (http://www.herger.net/_data/Biography.zip) - I just uploaded it a few minutes ago.I'm using the 3/15 nightly build (SlimServer Version: 6.0b1 - r2461) and could not get this plug-in to show up in the plugins list. I unzipped both the Biography.zip and MHCPAN.zip files in my Plugins directory.
Please remove the MHCPAN stuff - it's mainly intended for Windows users who do not have perl installed on their system. Most linux installations won't need this.
If the plugin is still not working after a restart, it's better to use something like "apt-get format-text" or a GUI tool (sorry I'm not a debian user) to install the needed module (HTML::FormatText).
chmoded them to the slimserver userid and gid. I restarted the slimserver (and tried setting the "load plugins on-the-fly" setting). I checked the d_plugins flag, but no errors came up in the log. What else might I be missing?
Once the server's running it's too late for fetching the messages using d_plugins as the plugins are checked at startup time. You'd therefor have to run slimserver manually using "slimserver.pl -d_plugins". This should tell you if there are some modules missing.
This would be a first attempt on using this plug-in. I'm new to slimserver. I have it installed on a Debian Testing i386 box.
