Now that SB2 has 802.11G and a deeper buffer, I am going to make an assumption that the wireless drop-out and range issues that existed are going to disappear or at least be substantially reduced. So, I'm looking to design a wireless, portable config for my SB2 and would like some input from the list. By portable, I don't mean like an IPOD. I mean the leanest, cheapest, and most compact HW/SW/wirelesss server combo to take camping, to a party, etc. to make my music library available to the SB2 wireless and in a lossless format. Assume that the server has no other function but to serve music to an SB2 network of 1-5 units Each SB2 can be connected to something for output as simple as a boom-box or to a high end DJ/Home theater setup via optical or S/PDIF. The processor and memory configuration should take into account the possibility of 1-5 clients. Think about multiple SB2's covering individual tents/cabins, pool, dinner table etc or a party with multiple rooms indoors and an outdoor component. Internet access is possible in SOME situations, but not all. Although my collection is currently in WMA lossless with no drm (no lectures please, it made sense at the time :-) ) I'd be willing to re-rip everything if it was not too horrible from a process perspective. I'm willing to make this my first foray into linux if that's the best option for time and cost, but I'm not interested in spending untold hours hunting down obscure modules and drivers to make this work. It needs to be simple, easy, clean and stable. Form factor for the server is an issue. The smaller the better. So case suggestions are appreciated, along with OS/Processor/Memory/Route & access point configs. Input is greatly appreciated! Mike
