you might want to confirm that the XML file you have now set slimserver to look for, is really the one that is being changed by iTunes. If you have erased the db, or wiped cache then you should be importing fresh from itunes XML. You can also look at d_itunes and d_info log output to see if the files are being added, then removed (which is one symptom of the reported missing files problem, reported as bug1226).
