Hi folks,
I have a question on the forums, mailing list
server, and configuration question.
I've been getting E-Mail at my E-Mail address used
for the list. Some is legit, some is not. But regardless, I want
only list messages to go to my list address. So I'm going to make a change
to my mail server to bounce messages to my list E-Mail address that aren't from
the list. It will say how to send me mail, to cover the non-SPAM
cases.
In looking at messages from the list, I see headers
like:
List-Id: Slim Devices Discussion
<discuss.lists.slimdevices.com>
List-Unsubscribe: <http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Archive: <http://lists.slimdevices.com/archives/discuss> List-Post: <mailto:[email protected]> List-Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Subscribe: <http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Can I depend on these headers? For example,
can I bounce any message where the Sender isn't [EMAIL PROTECTED] (for
the discussion mailing list)? Or can I look at List-Id, and if the message
doesn't have one, then bounce?
Will *ALL* messages (regardless if they originated
from the forum or mailing list) have these headers (they seem to)? Can I
depend on this in the future?
Thanks,
--
Jeff
