What button is that?  Could you provide some more detailed instructions
about how you do this in foobar 2000?  I'm assuming that you are
coverting into mp3 or ogg.  Does it also transfer the metadata from the
FLAC file to the other format?

I'm not sure about a button, but if you select all the files, right-click and choose one of the "Convert" options, that'll do it for you. There are many options including command-line driven conversions for those not built-in to Foobar2000 (e.g., for FLAC files I use a JavaScript script file to tell iTunes to convert to AAC for iPod listening). Tags are definitely preserved.
