My SB2 also arrived yesterday, again originally a platinum order gone
black, and I too am very pleased. The big thing I notice is that
several of the hiccups I had with the SB1/SS6 combination (and even
sometimes with SoftSqueeze2) are not present. I can call up the server
and look at the player page without it going quiet for several seconds.
I can browse around on the unit itself, even calling up internet radio
stations, without playback ceasing for some time.

Which SlimServer version are you using?

How much of this is simply due to the difference between a 10Mb/s and
100Mb/s wired connection I don't know, but the SB2 just seems overall
faster, more responsive and more solid.

SB2 has a much bigger buffer memory which will continue playing for a while even if the server crashes. This was a little confusing, when it happened for the first time. But this also helps playing, while some intensive or slow tasks are blocking the server.

Audio quality is great (coax S/PDIF) and I /love/ the display! We
should be using one of those in our own products. :) And I can finally
rip DTS CDs and play them back in surround...

What's your product?
