I'm interested in several squeezeboxes but only if Alien BBC actually works really well.
I have installed Slimserv and added AlienBBC and mplayer plus the codecs.
Softsqueeze connects to slimserv and show me either the music selected or Radio 4 but there is no sound.
I was just trying this on my laptop (I have it all working ok on my desktop) with the same result.
I traced it to a wrong version of the cook codec.
You don't say what OS your are using, and I don't know anything about Windows.
On *nix or Mac OS run mplayer from the command line,
mplayer -playlist (name of stream)
