slim.exe runs from command line, which gives you all of the feedback.
i really don't know much else about the particulars of the service since I run slimserver.pl
on linux and windows. i can make that a service using firedaemon.
happy to help, when there is something there to look at. hopefully this actually leads to the solution :).
