Like you, I wanted access to the player via my TV as well. So I
got a small computer with an S-Video output that I connected to
my TV and I run SlimServer on it. I use an RF Gyration mouse
and keyboard for navigation. When my Squeezebox is playing I
have it show the Status Header so that it displays album art and
tag info. Obviously since this is a computer you can use it to
surf the net although I only use it for my SlimServer
exclusively (I hate surfing the net on my TV because I only have
a 32" standard TV and you don't realize how much better the
resolution of a PC monitor is over a CRT television until you
try to watch your computer on TV.)

The downside to something like the D-Link is the lack of a
display on the unit itself. I don't like the fact that a TV is
not optional, you must be connected to a television to use the
unit (as far as I can tell.) Since the unit is designed to
stream video as well as music D-Link probably assumes that
anyone who purchases one will have it connected to a TV anyway.
