SlimServer 6.0.2 running on a Windows XP box was crashing when I attempted to browse a playlist created by Windows Media Player (*.WPL). The debug messages seemed to indicate a parsing problem so I tried various playlists to see if I could isolate the problem. Here's what I found:
I have a directory for my music and a subdirectory for my playlists like this: C:\music C:\music\playlists When I used Media Player to create a playlist (saved to the playlist directory - see example above) and then looked at the playlist it had references to the MP3 files that looked like this: "../Good Song.mp3" It seems the "../" was messing up SlimServer so I made another playlist in Media Player but saved it to the music directory (where the MP3s are) and now the references were: "Good Song.mp3" and this playlist worked in SlimServer. So if you use Media Player to create playlists, save them to the same directory as your songs. And it would be nice if the code for reading Media Player playlists (*.WPL) would be updated to deal with relative paths. Otherwise SlimServer rocks! -- KanyonKris _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
