and as a possible midpoint in fiddliness between the Teacs and the AMP3, you could purchase a Sonic Impact T-Amp and repackage the works with decent connectors and a power supply. probably still only about a $60USD investment (and no torroid winding) would net you a pretty nice sounding little amp.
