Quoting GregD <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:Any way round this?
not really. that's how sync works. It finds the lowest common format and bitrate, in order to be able to match the timing of the streams.
this gets me thinking about the recent request to be able to use a number of SBs scattered around to control one centrol SB that was feeding a distribution amplifier. these could, of course, be sync'd, but then you are saturating the network with bits that could be dev null'd.
what occurs to me is that it should be possible to implement a scheme where the controller SBs are sync'd with the central SB but have specified a zero bit rate. a special case could be added to the sync code such that these zero bit rate SBs could be ignored for purposes of determining lowest common denominator format/rate for sync. sync for the controller players would just be for purposes of UI display and remote control of the central player.
this wouldn't solve GregD's issue, but it would address the central SB control issue.
