I'm pretty sure I know *why* this is happening, but I don't know how to deal with it.
I just changed the IP address from getting a dynamic address via DHCP to using a static address (with the rest of the data via DHCP).
I would guess that, somewhere in my system, it is still trying to connect to the old address. Both the old address and the new one use the same name for the computer, of course, namely "Daniel-Cohens-Computer". so presumably that name is being translated to the old IP address, not the new one.
Resetting the preferences doesn't work, as there doesn't seem to be a way of actually asking Softsqueeze to find a server by IP number.
By the way, there is a tiny bug in Softsqueeze, which may catch people out on first use. That is, the name of the server is abbreviated to 16 symbols (I think) and the computer name may be longer than that. When I first ran Softsqueeze it named the server as "Daniel-Cohens-Co" and claimed a failed connection, which cleared up when I changed the name manually to "Daniel-Cohens-Computer".
