Hi, I thought i would burn some midnight oil, what else would one do on PTO. I have been a very happy slim user, and have had a bunch of friends move to slim when they see how easy it is to free your music. So i thought that the Mini mac would make a GREAT media hub. It arrived on Monday, and well here we are. What i have is a Mini Mac 1.42GHz with 1GB RAM, 80G internal hard drive and 2 external Maxtor 1 touch drives attached through Firewire. All the Music is on one of the Maxtor drives. The Mini Mac is at os/x 10.4.1 with Itunes at 4.8.....I have about 1300 albums with approximately 13k tracks. I had this all running on a emac at 700Mhz with 868M of RAM with a version of 6.0.2

I proceeded to downloaded 6.0.3 and it spun the CPU at 95% basically continuously, the Squeezebox is blank and never wakes up. Web interface times out.

I then downloaded 6.1. It spun the CPU for about 10 mins. Then told me that i had 10 albums from 5 artists. Then i turned of itunes and typed in the path to my music, after about 2 hours slimserver had found about 1200 albums. I presume that this is not normal.

I then downloaded 6.0.2. It immediately came up with 664 albums with itunes enabled, but nothing in the playlists, and after about 4 minutes the squeezebox went blank. The Slimserver (perl) was sitting at about 40% CPU which is not of any real concern. So i left it alone for about 15 minutes and when i went back i now have 1089 albums and the playlists are full of songs. HAHA almost back to normal, and the CPU has settled down to 3%...However i think there is still something wrong with my setup, moving to faster processor with more memory makes things that much slower ?

I'm willing to provide you with whatever debugs can i provide....Please let me know. Now i can listen to Virgin radio again on the deck now that somebody has turned the heat lamps on in CA ;-)

What i'm seeing is a collection of things that have been talked about on the list already. I'll try each one and see what happens. What i do know

1)i download the current 6.0.2 that is available from the download page the CPU spins at 90% for about a minute maybe longer, goes idle for 10 secs and then repeats....and the squeezebox goes blank

2)I download the 6.0.1 from the 6.0.1 folder and i'm missing about 300 albums, and lots and lots of tracks on the albums. They are all present in itunes

i'll try the 6.0.3 and 6.1 and see what happens with it. Like i said i have 6.0.1 trunk on the emac and it runs fine

is there something that i should turn on for debug ?

I know that 6.0.1 - trunk worked on my emac, so i want to
try it on the mini, but i cant seem to locate it....

The trunk version is always a snapshot of a given moment. You'll have to forget about 6.0.1 trunk as it's now at least 6.0.3. And the snapshots aren't kept forever.

BTW: if you have problems with 6.0.3 and 6.1 I don't think 6.0.1 would work, anyway. But if you give some information about your problems you might be helped solving the real problem.
