FLAC is a free, open source compression technique/format for music. The cool thing about it in the SqueezeBox world is that the SB2s can decode FLAC locally, so bandwidth requirements are halved. Google for it, or check http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/tips.html I've got a fair number of applicable links and pointers Last time I checked, the SqueezeBox hardware could not natively handle WMA file formats, so the audio is converted to raw PCM wave, and either send raw (which uses a fair amount of wireless bandwidth) or transcoded to MP3. You also might want to temporarily connect using an Ethernet cable. If that lets it play without dropouts, you can identify parts of the problem. -- Pat http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/slimsoftware.html _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
