BTW, the problems you described are dropouts, not clipping. Clipping is
distortion caused when the waveform is amplified too high for the
device, either digitally or analog, causing it to square off at the top
and bottom.
If you told support you were getting clipping with the SB that you
didn't get when playing the same MP3 on your computer, I'm not surprised
they asked you to send the SB back -- real clipping would be most likely
a hardware problem.
