It definitely supports ID3v2.3 tags. ID3v2.2 used 3 character tag
ids, while 2.3/2.4 uses 4 character tag ids (2.4 just expands the
tag definitions).
You can probably script the conversion from 2.2 to 2.3.

Actually, I just double checked & all 10 files are tagged 2.4. I
guess my question should be: if a 2.4 tag exists but no 1.x tag
exists, does the slimserver have this trouble? I've got around 75
tracks that I've recently added in this situation. They show up fine
as 2.4 tags in iTunes, but they are blank in the slimserver.
