I'm sure it's a low power LED. According to a random web site[0], red LEDs draw about 80-150mW. Worst case scenario, at 5.8c/kWh (which is what I'm paying in Toronto for my excess power above 750kWh/mo), that's 7.6c/year to light that power button.
