I think he meant Softsqueeze was fine, but his Squeezebox wasn't connecting? awm, can you get Softsqueeze on the local machine to connect and play music? If so, and after rebooting the squeezebox it can't connect, you have a network or firewall problem. If you are able to telnet to slimserver, but Softsqueeze doesn't work then you have something very odd going on. By "remote box" I just meant another computer on the network that was remote from the machine running slimserver.
