is there a newer module for crestron control other than the one that is contained on the plugins page?
The plugins page typically has the latest and greatest available for general consumption. I know of nothing newer.
is there also a way to make cover art appear in the crestron page over the data interface?
Support for this is via a newish feature in the CLI, added specifically for AMX NetLinx support. Such CLI support could be used by Crestron as well, should someone decide to revisit.
Note that a bunch of CLI browsing capability was added for AMX NetLinx as well. To the best of my knowledge, there's no form of "intelligent browsing" for Crestron as there is for AMX.
If you want these things, a fair chunk of the work is done - SlimServer need not be extended (since it was added for AMX NetLinx). But the Crestron module will most certainly need to be reworked.
