I don't run Squeezecenter on a typical PC from these days. For a long time I used a Pentium 4 from 1999 which maxed out at at 450 MB of RAM and ran FreeBSD, now I'm running a Pentium 3 with a little over a gig of RAM with Ubuntu. As we upgrade our machines in the house, the oldest one becomes the media server. I specifically chose Slimserver/Squeezecenter because of its low system requirements, and eventually bought a Squeezebox and would like to get a second one. It might seem silly to some, but if Logitech goes in the direction of requiring a late-model, dedicated computer to be the server, they're going to price themselves out of my market. -- thing-fish ' Most Recent Tracks' (http://www.last.fm/user/thing-fish/?chartstyle=basicrt10) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ thing-fish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5288 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50698 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
