When I lived in the Bay area I used to listen to KCSM, San Mateo which
features several announcers from the old KJAZ days as well as younger
ones. Mostly great jazz, non profit, no commercials.

They stream to my SB at
http://www.abacast.com/media/pls/kcsm/kcsm-kcsm-sc64.pls

I started sending them $50 a year so I could get the four page program
monthly which lists the Riverwalk Jazz, Jazz Profiles with Nancy
Wilson, Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland, Jazzset with Dee Dee
Bridgewater, Bay Area live jazz recordings on "In the Moment", Jazz at
Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, Annals of Jazz with Richard
Hadlock, and The Jazz Decades with Ray Smith. Several of these I
record with Replay A/V and can listen later on the SB or MP3 player.

When you consider that streaming costs vary with number of listeners
versus more or less fixed costs for broadcasting over the air it makes
more sense to me to send them money now that I live 200 miles away and
must use the Internet to hear them.

KCSM is one of the last few 24 hour jazz stations left on the air.
Even John Rogers, 86 now and with KJAZ since 1959 still does an hour on
Saturday nights and Bob Parlocha, another KJAZ fixture is on nearly
every night from midnight until 6. Great stuff...

Dave
