OK, I took my life in my hands and changed the directory entry to C:/Users/Public/Application Data and restarted SqueezeCentre. It took me through initial setup and is now, seemingly happily, scanning my shared drive for music.
I am not sure what else I have *&^%$d up by doing this but I will cross that bridge when I come to it and not trouble you with it. Now back to trying to decipher your thread on the BBC Listen Again programmes in a seemingly vain attempt to get my 5 Live Breakfast programmes working again.....
