All of Tripath's remaining assets and all of its circuit designs were
purchased by Cirrus Logic. The Tripath chips are being made again. As
of the last update I was able to get when asking what it would take to
get a special order of the 25x2 chips, the issue is that at this time
Cirrus has no interest in producing the low output power chips that DIY
and low cost amp designs use. Low power for them now means 100 watts a
channel. This is where the big market for large orders is anyway. There
is a possible 50Wx4 in the future for use in the car stereo receiver
market.
